Main Article Content
Abstract
The present study aims to investigate the effect of the Parachute strategy on formal thinking among intermediate school students in mathematics. The experimental method was adopted, using a quasi-experimental design with a post-test. The research sample consisted of (65) students, divided into (33) for the experimental group and (32) for the control group, with equivalence between the two groups in certain variables (prior knowledge, intelligence, and previous achievement).A formal thinking test was constructed, consisting of (18) items covering six main skills. After statistical analysis of the data, the results indicated the superiority of the experimental group over the control group. Based on these findings, the researcher proposed several recommendations and suggestions presented in the main body of the study.
