Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the reality of recreational services in the city of Hilla and its spatial distribution and the area occupied by it and identify the factors affecting the distribution and also to identify the efficiency of recreational services.


The study used the field study, which included the institutions associated with these services, in addition to using the survey questionnaire, field visits and interviews with the use of a number of maps, tables and graphs, and determining the efficiency of the services based on a number of local planning standards as well as criteria of population satisfaction and accessibility, Represented by the standard grade and Pearson correlation coefficient, as demonstrated. The study also revealed that the efficiency of recreational services in terms of spatial distribution and its numbers has been found. The study found that the city suffers from a clear lack of entertainment services, as well as poor distribution, as it is concentrated in some neighborhoods of the city, while less or not exist in some neighborhoods, The lack of consideration of planning standards in the distribution and during the establishment of the corresponding to the increase in population and urban expansion and the needs of the population of these services.
