Abstract

Population growth is one of the very important demographic phenomena that various studies seek, especially in the geography of the population, to identify its components and calculate their rates and predictability, and the extent of their impact on many phenomena in society, including the phenomenon of female spinster in the Diwaniyah district, as population growth rates for females affected The high percentage of this phenomenon in the judiciary as a result of the rise in those rates, and the highest percentage of this phenomenon in the Diwaniyah District Center (77.3%), while the lowest percentage was recorded within the Shafi’i side and reached (7.1%). There were many reasons that also played a role in the rise in the phenomenon of spinsterhood in the judiciary, chief among them social, economic, political, and cultural causes.
